If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.

and the way of peace they have not known.” ¹ 

so then, understand ¹  that those who believe are the sons of Abraham. ² 

Now ¹  by this we know that we have come to know God: ²  if we keep his commandments.

Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men ¹  know that you sent me.

(They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.) ¹ 

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,

So also you, when you see all these things, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.

“I am the good shepherd. I ¹  know my own ²  and my own know me –

If you have known me, you will know my Father too. ¹  And from now on you do know him and have seen him.”

“If the world hates you, be aware ¹  that it hated me first. ² 

You should know that ¹  our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you. ² 

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life ¹  for ²  the sheep.

None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

So then from now on we acknowledge ¹  no one from an outward human point of view. ²  Even though we have known Christ from such a human point of view, ³  now we do not know him in that way any longer.

But now that you have come to know God (or rather to be known by God), how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless ¹  basic forces? ²  Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again? ³ 

By this ¹  you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses ²  Jesus as the Christ ³  who has come in the flesh is from God,

So also you, when you see these things happening, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.

(For he knew that the chief priests had handed him over because of envy.) ¹ 

When Pilate ¹  was informed by the centurion, ²  he gave the body to Joseph.
