Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.

If someone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.

He did not recognize him because his hands were hairy, like his brother Esau’s hands. So Isaac blessed Jacob. ¹ 

So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.

When day came, they did not recognize the land, but they noticed ¹  a bay ²  with a beach, ³  where they decided to run the ship aground if they could.

You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered ¹  from thorns or figs from thistles, are they? ² 

He was in the world, and the world was created ¹  by him, but ²  the world did not recognize ³  him.

John answered them, ¹  “I baptize with water. Among you stands one whom you do not recognize, ² 

I did not recognize ¹  him, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.” ² 

Have you never questioned those who travel the roads? Do you not recognize their accounts ¹  –

(but their eyes were kept ¹  from recognizing ²  him). ³ 

My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

And I hope that you will realize that we have not failed the test! ¹

They will demolish you ¹  – you and your children within your walls ²  – and they will not leave within you one stone ³  on top of another, ⁴  because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.” ⁵ 

They will never follow a stranger, ¹  but will run away from him, because they do not recognize ²  the stranger’s voice.” ³ 

When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, ¹  but she did not know that it was Jesus.
