Then ¹  I saw three unclean spirits ²  that looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what ¹  comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

Immediately ¹  Zechariah’s ²  mouth was opened and his tongue ³  released, ⁴  and he spoke, blessing God.

as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago, ¹ 

He ¹  committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth. ² 

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

But I said, ‘Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean ¹  has ever entered my mouth!’

At that ¹  the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near ²  Paul ³  to strike ⁴  him on the mouth.

For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness ¹  and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. ² 

But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. These things should not be so, my brothers and sisters. ¹ 

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going ¹  to vomit ²  you out of my mouth!

But he answered, ¹  “It is written, ‘Man ²  does not live ³  by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” ⁴ 

Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say anything good, since you are evil? For the mouth speaks from what fills the heart.

This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet: ¹  “I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.” ² 

Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth enters the stomach and then passes out into the sewer? ¹ 

All ¹  were speaking well of him, and were amazed at the gracious words coming out of his mouth. They ²  said, “Isn’t this ³  Joseph’s son?”

A jar full of sour wine ¹  was there, so they put a sponge soaked in sour wine on a branch of hyssop ²  and lifted it ³  to his mouth.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” ¹  (that is, the word of faith that we preach),

because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord ¹  and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
