He shot ¹  arrows and scattered them, ²  lightning and routed them. ³ 

He is as bright as lightning; ¹  a two-pronged lightning bolt flashes from his hand. ²  This is the outward display of his power. ³ 

See how he scattered ¹  his lightning ²  about him; he has covered the depths ³  of the sea.

With his hands ¹  he covers ²  the lightning, and directs it against its target.

He loads the clouds with moisture; ¹  he scatters his lightning through the clouds.

Do you know how God commands them, ¹  how he makes lightning flash in his storm cloud? ² 

In what direction is lightning ¹  dispersed, or the east winds scattered over the earth?

He shot his ¹  arrows and scattered them, ²  many lightning bolts ³  and routed them. ⁴ 

He rained hail down on their cattle, ¹  and hurled lightning bolts down on their livestock. ² 

His lightning bolts light up the world; the earth sees and trembles.

He sent hail along with the rain; ¹  there was lightning in their land. ² 

Hurl lightning bolts and scatter them! Shoot your arrows and rout them! ¹ 

The living beings moved backward and forward as quickly as flashes of lightning. ¹ 

His ¹  appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

So ¹  he said to them, “I saw ²  Satan fall ³  like lightning ⁴  from heaven.

The chariots ¹  race madly ²  through the streets, they rush back and forth ³  in the broad plazas; they look ⁴  like lightning bolts, ⁵  they dash here and there ⁶  like flashes of lightning. ⁷ 

Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners ¹  of the earth.

Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go? Will they say to you, ‘Here we are’?

Your thunderous voice was heard in the wind; the lightning bolts lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. ¹ 

After that a voice roars; he thunders with an exalted voice, and he does not hold back his lightning bolts ¹  when his voice is heard.
