For the appeal we make ¹  does not come ²  from error or impurity or with deceit,

For you can be confident of this one thing: ¹  that no person who is immoral, impure, or greedy (such a person is an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

When you go out as an army against your enemies, guard yourselves against anything impure. ¹ 

Who can make ¹  a clean thing come from an unclean? ²  No one!

For God did not call us to impurity but in holiness.

and if jealous feelings ¹  come over him and he becomes suspicious ²  of his wife, when she is defiled; ³  or if jealous feelings come over him and he becomes suspicious of his wife, when she is not defiled –

and any winged thing on the ground are impure to you – they may not be eaten. ¹ 

I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.

He said to them, “You know that ¹  it is unlawful ²  for a Jew ³  to associate with or visit a Gentile, ⁴  yet God has shown me that I should call no person ⁵  defiled or ritually unclean. ⁶ 

If, however, it is eaten ¹  on the third day, it is spoiled, ²  it will not be accepted,

but whatever does not have fins and scales you may not eat; it is ritually impure to you.

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord, for I have never eaten anything defiled and ritually unclean!” ¹ 

The voice ¹  spoke to him again, a second time, “What God has made clean, you must not consider ²  ritually unclean!” ³ 

But I said, ‘Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean ¹  has ever entered my mouth!’

But the voice replied a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, you must not consider ¹  ritually unclean!’

Now the works of the flesh ¹  are obvious: ²  sexual immorality, impurity, depravity,

sexually immoral people, practicing homosexuals, ¹  kidnappers, liars, perjurers – in fact, for any who live contrary to sound teaching.

But reject those myths ¹  fit only for the godless and gullible, ²  and train yourself for godliness.

Like you eat the gazelle or ibex, so you may eat these; the ritually impure and pure alike may eat them.
