Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.

Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Thus ¹  I grant ²  to you a kingdom, ³  just as my Father granted to me,

I have both seen and testified that this man is the Chosen One of God.” ¹ 

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people ¹  to myself.”

Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. ¹ 

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling.

Since many ¹  are boasting according to human standards, ²  I too will boast.

Jesus ¹  answered them, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me then I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” ¹  Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by ²  my works.

Should you not have shown mercy to your fellow slave, just as I showed it to you?’

He answered them, ¹  “I will also ask you a question, and you tell me:

So he ¹  told ²  them, “My Father is working until now, and I too am working.” ³ 

The one who eats ¹  my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him. ² 

My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Then ¹  I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate ²  to be with you forever –

“Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain ¹  in my love.

The glory ¹  you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one –

So, brothers and sisters, ¹  I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but instead as people of the flesh, ²  as infants in Christ.
