What shall we say then? – that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith,

So indeed it was credited to Abraham ¹  as righteousness.

For human ¹  anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. ² 

and be found in him, not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ’s faithfulness ¹  – a righteousness from God that is in fact ²  based on Christ’s ³  faithfulness. ⁴ 

“Blessed are those who hunger ¹  and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.

For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness ¹  and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. ² 

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, ¹ 

In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless.

But above all pursue his kingdom ¹  and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

but in every nation ¹  the person who fears him ²  and does what is right ³  is welcomed before him.

For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited ¹  to him as righteousness.” ² 

So even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, but ¹  the Spirit is your life ²  because of righteousness.

For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The one who does these things will live by them.” ¹ 

But you, as a person dedicated to God, ¹  keep away from all that. ²  Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.

Through faith they conquered kingdoms, administered justice, ¹  gained what was promised, ²  shut the mouths of lions,

But in fact, if you happen to suffer ¹  for doing what is right, ²  you are blessed. But do not be terrified of them ³  or be shaken. ⁴ 

If you know that he is righteous, you also know ¹  that everyone who practices righteousness has been fathered ²  by him.

Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness ¹  is righteous, just as Jesus ²  is righteous.
