For human ¹  anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. ² 

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.

In any case, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.

But I do not allow ¹  a woman to teach or exercise authority ²  over a man. She must remain quiet. ³ 

No widow should be put on the list ¹  unless ²  she is at least sixty years old, was the wife of one husband, ³ 

– children not born ¹  by human parents ²  or by human desire ³  or a husband’s ⁴  decision, ⁵  but by God.

To the married I give this command – not I, but the Lord ¹  – a wife should not divorce a husband

There was also a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old, ¹  having been married to her husband for seven years until his death.

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries ¹  someone else commits adultery, and the one who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

But Ananias replied, ¹  “Lord, I have heard from many people ²  about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem,

For a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives, but if her ¹  husband dies, she is released from the law of the marriage. ² 

For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man.

For just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman. But all things come from God.

The Spirit told me to accompany them without hesitation. These six brothers ¹  also went with me, and we entered the man’s house.

So then, ¹  if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her ²  husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.

But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, ¹  and God is the head of Christ.
