About him all the prophets testify, ¹  that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins ²  through his name.”

“No one can withhold the water for these people to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, ¹  can he?” ² 

Receiving such orders, he threw them in the inner cell ¹  and fastened their feet in the stocks. ²

in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, ¹  so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.

Not that I have already attained this – that is, I have not already been perfected – but I strive to lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me. ¹

how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,
