he got up from the meal, removed ¹  his outer clothes, ²  took a towel and tied it around himself. ³ 

Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple courts, ¹  he asked them for money. ² 

and after taking some food, his strength returned. For several days ¹  he was with the disciples in Damascus,

But his disciples took him at night and let him down through an opening ¹  in the wall by lowering him in a basket. ² 

Simeon ¹  has explained ²  how God first concerned himself ³  to select ⁴  from among the Gentiles ⁵  a people for his name.

After he said this, Paul ¹  took bread ²  and gave thanks to God in front of them all, ³  broke ⁴  it, and began to eat.

Through him ¹  we have received grace and our apostleship ²  to bring about the obedience ³  of faith ⁴  among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.

For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died. ¹ 

Each competitor must exercise self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.

But be that as it may, I have not burdened you. Yet because I was a crafty person, I took you in by deceit!

The only thing I want to learn from you is this: Did you receive the Spirit by doing the works of the law ¹  or by believing what you heard? ² 

but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, ¹  by looking like other men, ²  and by sharing in human nature. ³ 

For if the message spoken through angels ¹  proved to be so firm that every violation ²  or disobedience received its just penalty,

And no one assumes this honor ¹  on his own initiative, ²  but only when called to it by God, ³  as in fact Aaron was.

For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, ¹ 

By faith they crossed the Red Sea as if on dry ground, but when the Egyptians tried it, they were swallowed up.

you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.

As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, ¹  take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name.

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another ¹  as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
