And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you,

and offered Jesus ¹  wine mixed with gall to drink. ²  But after tasting it, he would not drink it.

After ¹  they had assembled with the elders and formed a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

So ¹  the Pharisees ²  went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, ³  as to how they could assassinate ⁴  him.

For whoever has will be given more, but ¹  whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.” ² 

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, ¹  and told them to give her something to eat.

He swore to her, ¹  “Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.” ² 

but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give. It is for those for whom it has been prepared.” ¹ 

For false messiahs ¹  and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.

It ¹  could have been sold for more than three hundred silver coins ²  and the money ³  given to the poor!” So ⁴  they spoke angrily to her.

When they heard this, they were delighted ¹  and promised to give him money. ²  So ³  Judas ⁴  began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

and to offer a sacrifice according to what is specified in the law of the Lord, a pair of doves ¹  or two young pigeons. ² 

Give to everyone who asks you, ¹  and do not ask for your possessions ²  back ³  from the person who takes them away.

So ¹  the dead man ²  sat up and began to speak, and Jesus ³  gave him back ⁴  to his mother.

You gave me no kiss of greeting, ¹  but from the time I entered she has not stopped kissing my feet.

Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

After ¹  Jesus ²  called ³  the twelve ⁴  together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure ⁵  diseases,

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased ¹  to give you the kingdom.

Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division! ¹ 

He ¹  was longing to eat ²  the carob pods ³  the pigs were eating, but ⁴  no one gave him anything.
