Abram settled in the land of Canaan, but Lot settled among the cities of the Jordan plain ¹  and pitched his tents next to Sodom.

Now ¹  Isaac came from ²  Beer Lahai Roi, ³  for ⁴  he was living in the Negev. ⁵ 

The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; ¹  settle down in the land that I will point out to you. ² 

When Isaac planted in that land, he reaped in the same year a hundred times what he had sown, ¹  because the Lord blessed him. ² 

Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, the descendants ¹  of Seir in the land of Edom.

These were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites: ¹ 

He named the second child Ephraim, ¹  saying, ²  “Certainly ³  God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”

So Israel’s sons came to buy grain among the other travelers, ¹  for the famine was severe in the land of Canaan.

God sent me ¹  ahead of you to preserve you ²  on the earth and to save your lives ³  by a great deliverance.

When she bore ¹  a son, Moses ²  named him Gershom, for he said, “I have become a resident foreigner in a foreign land.” ³ 

But I will harden ¹  Pharaoh’s heart, and although I will multiply ²  my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt,

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.” ¹ 

The Lord set ¹  an appointed time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this ²  in the land.”

Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites lived, was there no hail.

Pharaoh will think ¹  regarding the Israelites, ‘They are wandering around confused ²  in the land – the desert has closed in on them.’ ³ 

“You must not wrong ¹  a foreigner ²  nor oppress him, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

The descendants of Judah were Er and Onan, but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

But if they do not cross over with you armed, they must receive possessions among you in Canaan.”
