Now if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons ¹  cast them ²  out? Therefore they will be your judges.

The Judeans ¹  replied, ²  “Aren’t we correct in saying ³  that you are a Samaritan and are possessed by a demon?” ⁴ 

Others said, “These are not the words ¹  of someone possessed by a demon. A demon cannot cause the blind to see, ²  can it?” ³

But the Pharisees ¹  said, “By the ruler ²  of demons he casts out demons.” ³ 

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ ¹ 

The crowd ¹  answered, “You’re possessed by a demon! ²  Who is trying to kill you?” ³ 

Pay them back for their evil deeds! Pay them back for what they do! Punish them! ¹ 

But evil people are like thorns – all of them are tossed away, for they cannot be held in the hand.

Turn back from me, all you who behave wickedly, ¹  for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping! ² 

And do not lead us into temptation, ¹  but deliver us from the evil one. ² 

As ¹  they were going away, ²  a man who could not talk and was demon-possessed was brought to him.

Then ¹  Jesus rebuked ²  the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment.

Those who had seen what had happened to the demon-possessed man reported it, and they also told about the pigs.

As he was getting into the boat the man who had been demon-possessed asked if he could go ¹  with him.

Then ¹  he said to her, “Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

She went home and found the child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.

Now ¹  in the synagogue ²  there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean ³  demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

For John the Baptist has come ¹  eating no bread and drinking no wine, ²  and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ ³
