Not counting children and women, ¹  there were four thousand men who ate. ² 

Now ¹  there were five thousand men ²  who ate the bread. ³

Wives, submit to your ¹  husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them.

But I do not allow ¹  a woman to teach or exercise authority ²  over a man. She must remain quiet. ³ 

Deacons must be husbands of one wife ¹  and good managers of their children and their own households.

No widow should be put on the list ¹  unless ²  she is at least sixty years old, was the wife of one husband, ³
