Samson continued on down to Timnah ¹  and spoke to the girl. In his opinion, she was just the right one. ² 

She said, “Allow Abishag the Shunammite to be given to your brother Adonijah as a wife.”

So the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this ¹  you have done?” And the woman replied, “The serpent ²  tricked ³  me, and I ate.”

So Rachel ¹  gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife, and Jacob had marital relations with ²  her.

Shechem said to his father Hamor, “Acquire this young girl as my wife.” ¹ 

if you should see among them ¹  an attractive woman whom you wish to take as a wife,

The young woman’s father must say to the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man and he has rejected ¹  her.

When Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, ¹  captured it, Caleb ²  gave Acsah his daughter to him as a wife.

The Israelites had taken an oath in Mizpah, saying, “Not one of us will allow his daughter to marry a Benjaminite.”

Ben-Abinadab was in charge of Naphath Dor. (He was married to Solomon’s daughter Taphath.)

Ahimaaz was in charge of Naphtali. (He married Solomon’s daughter Basemath.)

Sheshan gave his daughter to his servant Jarha as a wife; she bore him Attai.

Then the Lord God made ¹  a woman from the part he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her ¹  to be my wife? ²  Here is your wife! ³  Take her and go!” ⁴ 

What’s more, ¹  she is indeed my sister, my father’s daughter, but not my mother’s daughter. She became my wife.

Then Isaac brought Rebekah ¹  into his mother Sarah’s tent. He took her ²  as his wife and loved her. ³  So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death. ⁴ 

When Isaac was forty years old, he married Rebekah, ¹  the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram and sister of Laban the Aramean. ² 

So Esau went to Ishmael and married ¹  Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Abraham’s son Ishmael, along with the wives he already had.

Jacob did as Laban said. ¹  When Jacob ²  completed Leah’s bridal week, ³  Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife. ⁴ 

When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she gave ¹  her servant Zilpah to Jacob as a wife.
