“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” ¹ 

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?” ¹ 

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law ¹  and boast of your relationship to God ² 

You who boast in the law dishonor God by transgressing the law!

But if I do what I don’t want, I agree that the law is good. ¹ 

For I delight in the law of God in my inner being.

For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God.

You who are trying to be declared righteous ¹  by the law have been alienated ²  from Christ; you have fallen away from grace!

In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless.

But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members.

Thanks be ¹  to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, ²  I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but ³  with my flesh I serve ⁴  the law of sin.

(just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male ¹  will be set apart to the Lord” ² ),

and to offer a sacrifice according to what is specified in the law of the Lord, a pair of doves ¹  or two young pigeons. ² 

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death ¹  such women. ²  What then do you say?”

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹ 

Now this happened ¹  to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without reason.’ ² 

For all who have sinned apart from the law ¹  will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

an educator of the senseless, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the essential features of knowledge and of the truth –

Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous one will live by faith. ¹ 

Or have you not read in the law that the priests in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are not guilty?
