Ahab Promotes Idolatry

16:29 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Omri’s son Ahab became king over Israel. Ahab son of Omri ruled over Israel for twenty-two years in Samaria. 1

20:14 Ahab asked, “By whom will this be accomplished?” 2  He answered, “This is what the Lord says, ‘By the servants of the district governors.’” Ahab 3  asked, “Who will launch the attack?” He answered, “You will.”

20:33 The men took this as a good omen and quickly accepted his offer, saying, “Ben Hadad is your brother.” Ahab 4  then said, “Go, get him.” So Ben Hadad came out to him, and Ahab pulled him up into his chariot.
