9:8 Do not reprove a mocker or he will hate you;
reprove a wise person and he will love you.

but the one who lacks wisdom will be disciplined.

but the wicked person will fall by his own wickedness.

to turn a person from deadly snares.

but its end is the way that leads to death.

but a good person will be rewarded for his.

but those who love the rich are many.

to keep him from going downward to Sheol.

but the Lord evaluates the motives.
16:7 When a person’s ways are pleasing to the Lord,
he even reconciles his enemies to himself.
16:14 A king’s wrath is like a messenger of death,
but a wise person appeases it.
16:23 A wise person’s heart makes his speech wise
and it adds persuasiveness to his words.
16:25 There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way that leads to death.

18:8 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down into the person’s innermost being.
19:11 A person’s wisdom makes him slow to anger,
and it is his glory to overlook an offense.
20:17 Bread gained by deceit tastes sweet to a person,
but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.
20:24 The steps of a person are ordained by the Lord –
so how can anyone understand his own way?
20:25 It is a snare for a person to rashly cry, “Holy!”

and do not crush the needy in court,

so is a righteous person who gives way before the wicked.
25:28 Like a city that is broken down and without a wall,
so is a person who cannot control his temper.
26:21 Like charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire,
so is a contentious person to kindle strife.
26:22 The words of a gossip are like delicious morsels;

27:8 Like a bird that wanders from its nest,
so is a person who wanders from his home.
27:12 A shrewd person sees danger and hides himself,

29:7 The righteous person cares for the legal rights of the poor;
the wicked does not understand such knowledge.
29:13 The poor person and the oppressor have this in common:
the Lord gives light to the eyes of them both.
29:23 A person’s pride will bring him low,
but one who has a lowly spirit will gain honor.
