2:1 My child, if you receive my words,
and store up my commands within you,
11:17 A kind person benefits himself,
but a cruel person brings himself trouble.
19:27 If you stop listening to instruction, my child,
you will stray from the words of knowledge.
20:20 The one who curses his father and his mother,
his lamp will be extinguished in the blackest darkness.
21:13 The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor,
he too will cry out and will not be answered.
21:23 The one who guards his mouth and his tongue
keeps his life from troubles.
23:13 Do not withhold discipline from a child;
even if you strike him with the rod, he will not die.
27:3 A stone is heavy and sand is weighty,
but vexation by a fool is more burdensome than the two of them.
27:19 As in water the face is reflected as a face,
so a person’s heart reflects the person.
