Jeremiah 1:7

1:7 The Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ But go to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you.

Jeremiah 1:19

1:19 They will attack you but they will not be able to overcome you, for I will be with you to rescue you,” says the Lord.

Jeremiah 3:20

3:20 But, you have been unfaithful to me, nation of Israel,

like an unfaithful wife who has left her husband,”

says the Lord.

Jeremiah 5:2

5:2 These people make promises in the name of the Lord.

But the fact is, what they swear to is really a lie.”

Jeremiah 6:14

6:14 They offer only superficial help

for the harm my people have suffered.

They say, ‘Everything will be all right!’

But everything is not all right!

Jeremiah 7:19

7:19 But I am not really the one being troubled!” says the Lord. “Rather they are bringing trouble on themselves to their own shame!

Jeremiah 7:26

7:26 But your ancestors did not listen to me nor pay attention to me. They became obstinate and were more wicked than even their own forefathers.’”

Jeremiah 8:11

8:11 They offer only superficial help

for the hurt my dear people have suffered.

They say, “Everything will be all right!”

But everything is not all right!

Jeremiah 10:24

10:24 Correct us, Lord, but only in due measure.

Do not punish us in anger or you will reduce us to nothing.

Jeremiah 18:10

18:10 But if that nation does what displeases me and does not obey me, then I will cancel the good I promised to do to it.

18:12 But they just keep saying, ‘We do not care what you say! We will do whatever we want to do! We will continue to behave wickedly and stubbornly!’”

Jeremiah 21:14

21:14 But I will punish you as your deeds deserve,’

says the Lord.

‘I will set fire to your palace;

it will burn up everything around it.’”

Jeremiah 22:5

22:5 But, if you do not obey these commands, I solemnly swear that this palace will become a pile of rubble. I, the Lord, affirm it!”

Jeremiah 25:4

25:4 Over and over again the Lord has sent his servants the prophets to you. But you have not listened or paid attention.

Jeremiah 28:12-13

28:12 But shortly after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, the Lord spoke to Jeremiah. 28:13 “Go and tell Hananiah that the Lord says, ‘You have indeed broken the wooden yoke. But you have only succeeded in replacing it with an iron one!

Jeremiah 29:9

29:9 They are prophesying lies to you and claiming my authority to do so. But I did not send them. I, the Lord, affirm it!’

Jeremiah 30:9

30:9 But they will be subject to the Lord their God

and to the Davidic ruler whom I will raise up as king over them.

Jeremiah 31:29

The Lord Will Make a New Covenant with Israel and Judah

31:29 “When that time comes, people will no longer say, ‘The parents have eaten sour grapes, but the children’s teeth have grown numb.’

Jeremiah 33:6

33:6 But I will most surely heal the wounds of this city and restore it and its people to health. I will show them abundant peace and security.

Jeremiah 34:11

34:11 But later they had changed their minds. They had taken back their male and female slaves that they had freed and forced them to be slaves again.

41:15 But Ishmael son of Nethaniah managed to escape from Johanan along with eight of his men, and he went on over to Ammon.

Jeremiah 42:21

42:21 This day I have told you what he said. But you do not want to obey the Lord by doing what he sent me to tell you.

Jeremiah 46:6

46:6 But even the swiftest cannot get away.

Even the strongest cannot escape.

There in the north by the Euphrates River

they stumble and fall in defeat.

Jeremiah 47:7

47:7 But how can it rest

when I, the Lord, have given it orders?

I have ordered it to attack

the people of Ashkelon and the seacoast.

Jeremiah 48:30

48:30 I, the Lord, affirm that I know how arrogant they are.

But their pride is ill-founded.

Their boastings will prove to be false.

Jeremiah 51:8

51:8 But suddenly Babylonia will fall and be destroyed.

Cry out in mourning over it!

Get medicine for her wounds!

Perhaps she can be healed!

Jeremiah 51:52

51:52 Yes, but the time will certainly come,” says the Lord,

“when I will punish her idols.

Throughout her land the mortally wounded will groan.

Jeremiah 52:8

52:8 But the Babylonian army chased after the king. They caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and his entire army deserted him.
