Deuteronomy 20:18

20:18 so that they cannot teach you all the abhorrent ways they worship their gods, causing you to sin against the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 32:5

32:5 His people have been unfaithful to him;

they have not acted like his children – this is their sin.

They are a perverse and deceitful generation.
