1 sn It is you. The psalmist addresses the apparent ringleader of the opposition, an individual who was once his friend.
2 tn Heb “a man according to my value,” i.e., “a person such as I.”
3 tn Heb “my close friend, one known by me.”
4 tn Heb “Who [is there] for me in heaven? And besides you I do not desire [anyone] in the earth.” The psalmist uses a merism (heaven/earth) to emphasize that God is the sole object of his desire and worship in the entire universe.
