Psalms 37:30

37:30 The godly speak wise words

and promote justice.

Psalms 50:17

50:17 For you hate instruction

and reject my words.

Psalms 119:103

119:103 Your words are sweeter

in my mouth than honey!

tn Heb “The mouth of the godly [one] utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.” The singular form is used in a representative sense; the typical godly individual is in view. The imperfect verbal forms draw attention to the characteristic behavior of the godly.

tn Heb “and throw my words behind you.”

tn Heb “How smooth they are to my palate, your word, more than honey to my mouth.” A few medieval Hebrew mss, as well as several other ancient witnesses, read the plural “your words,” which can then be understood as the subject of the plural verb “they are smooth.”
