7:6 He said to them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written:

‘This people honors me with their lips,

but their heart ¹  is far from me.

Mark 7:19

7:19 For it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and then goes out into the sewer.” ²  (This means all foods are clean.) ³ 

Mark 12:30

12:30 Love ⁴  the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ ⁵

⁵ sn A quotation from Deut 6:4-5 and Josh 22:5 (LXX). The fourfold reference to different parts of the person says, in effect, that one should love God with all one’s being.
