Mark 2:17
2:17 When Jesus heard this he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. 1 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Mark 6:56
6:56 And wherever he would go – into villages, towns, or countryside – they would place the sick in the marketplaces, and would ask him if 2 they could just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
Mark 16:18
16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; 3 they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”
1 sn Jesus’ point is that he associates with those who are sick because they have the need and will respond to the offer of help. A person who is healthy (or who thinks mistakenly that he is) will not seek treatment.
2 tn Grk “asked that they might touch.”
