Joshua 1:2

1:2 “Moses my servant is dead. Get ready! Cross the Jordan River! Lead these people into the land which I am ready to hand over to them.

Joshua 2:13

2:13 that you will spare the lives of my father, mother, brothers, sisters, and all who belong to them, and rescue us from death.”

Joshua 7:11

7:11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenantal commandment! They have taken some of the riches; they have stolen them and deceitfully put them among their own possessions.

Joshua 14:11

14:11 Today I am still as strong as when Moses sent me out. I can fight and go about my daily activities with the same energy I had then.

tn Heb “Get up!”

tn Heb “this Jordan”; the word “River” has been supplied in the translation for clarity (likewise in v. 11).

tc Heb “Cross over this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land that I am giving to them, to the children of Israel.” The final phrase, “to the children of Israel,” is probably a later scribal addition specifying the identity of “these people/them.”

tn Or “our lives.”

tn Heb “They have violated my covenant which I commanded them.”

tn Heb “what was set apart [to the Lord].”

tn Heb “and also they have stolen, and also they have lied, and also they have placed [them] among their items.”

tn Heb “like my strength then, like my strength now, for battle and for going out and coming in.”
