John 6:34

6:34 So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread all the time!”

John 11:7

11:7 Then after this, he said to his disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”

John 14:8

14:8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be content.”

tn Or “Lord.” The Greek κύριος (kurios) means both “Sir” and “Lord.” In this passage it is not at all clear at this point that the crowd is acknowledging Jesus as Lord. More likely this is simply a form of polite address (“sir”).

sn The village of Bethany, where Lazarus was, lies in Judea, less than 2 mi (3 km) from Jerusalem (see 11:18).

tn Grk “said to him.”

tn Or “and that is enough for us.”
