Jeremiah 5:21

5:21 Tell them: ‘Hear this,

you foolish people who have no understanding,

who have eyes but do not discern,

who have ears but do not perceive:

Jeremiah 14:6

14:6 Wild donkeys stand on the hilltops

and pant for breath like jackals.

Their eyes are strained looking for food,

because there is none to be found.”

Jeremiah 39:7

39:7 Then he had Zedekiah’s eyes put out and had him bound in chains to be led off to Babylon.

tn Heb “they have eyes but they do not see, they have ears but they do not hear.”

tn Heb “their eyes are strained because there is no verdure.”

tn Heb “fetters of bronze.” The more generic “chains” is used in the translation because “fetters” is a word unfamiliar to most modern readers.
