Jeremiah 22:17

22:17 But you are always thinking and looking

for ways to increase your wealth by dishonest means.

Your eyes and your heart are set

on killing some innocent person

and committing fraud and oppression. 1 

Jeremiah 23:3

23:3 Then I myself will regather those of my people 2  who are still alive from all the countries where I have driven them. I will bring them back to their homeland. 3  They will greatly increase in number.

Jeremiah 30:19

30:19 Out of those places you will hear songs of thanksgiving 4 

and the sounds of laughter and merriment.

I will increase their number and they will not dwindle away. 5 

I will bring them honor and they will no longer be despised.

1 tn Heb “Your eyes and your heart do not exist except for dishonest gain and for innocent blood to shed [it] and for fraud and for oppression to do [them].” The sentence has been broken up to conform more to English style and the significance of “eyes” and “heart” explained before they are introduced into the translation.

2 tn Heb “my sheep.”

4 tn Heb “Out of them will come thanksgiving and a sound of those who are playful.”
