Judges 2:17
2:17 But they did not obey 1 their leaders. Instead they prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped 2 them. They quickly turned aside from the path 3 their ancestors 4 had walked. Their ancestors had obeyed the Lord’s commands, but they did not. 5
Judges 6:13
6:13 Gideon said to him, “Pardon me, 6 but if the Lord is with us, why has such disaster 7 overtaken us? Where are all his miraculous deeds our ancestors told us about? They said, 8 ‘Did the Lord not bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”
Judges 11:17
11:17 Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, “Please allow us 9 to pass through your land.” But the king of Edom rejected the request. 10 Israel sent the same request to the king of Moab, but he was unwilling to cooperate. 11 So Israel stayed at Kadesh.

14:3 But his father and mother said to him, “Certainly you can find a wife among your relatives or among all our 12 people! You should not have to go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines.” 13 But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, 14 because she is the right one for me.” 15

But Samson’s father apparently speaks for both himself and his wife. However, the Lucianic recension of the LXX and the Syriac Peshitta have a second person pronoun here (“you”), and this may represent the original reading.
13 tn Heb “Is there not among the daughters of your brothers or among all my people a woman that you have to go to get a wife among the uncircumcised Philistines?”
14 tn “Her” is first in the Hebrew word order for emphasis. Samson wanted this Philistine girl, no one else. See C. F. Burney, Judges, 357.
