Judges 2:12
2:12 They abandoned the Lord God of their ancestors 1 who brought them out of the land of Egypt. They followed other gods – the gods of the nations who lived around them. They worshiped 2 them and made the Lord angry.
Judges 14:17
14:17 She cried on his shoulder 3 until the party was almost over. 4 Finally, on the seventh day, he told her because she had nagged him so much. 5 Then she told the young men the solution to the riddle. 6
1 tn Or “fathers.”
2 tn Or “bowed before” (the same expression occurs in the following verse).
3 tn Heb “on him.”
4 tn Heb “the seven days [during] which they held the party.” This does not mean she cried for the entire seven days; v. 15 indicates otherwise. She cried for the remainder of the seven day period, beginning on the fourth day.
5 tn Heb “because she forced him.”
6 tn Heb “she told the riddle to the sons of her people.”
