Isaiah 41:11

41:11 Look, all who were angry at you will be ashamed and humiliated;

your adversaries will be reduced to nothing and perish.

Isaiah 59:18

59:18 He repays them for what they have done,

dispensing angry judgment to his adversaries

and punishing his enemies.

He repays the coastlands.

Isaiah 64:2

64:2 (64:1) As when fire ignites dry wood,

or fire makes water boil,

let your adversaries know who you are,

and may the nations shake at your presence!

tn Heb “the men of your strife”; NASB “those who contend with you.”

tn Heb “like nothing”; NAB “come to nought.”

tn Heb “in accordance with deeds, so he repays, anger to his adversaries, repayment to his enemies.”

tn Or “islands” (KJV, NIV).

tn Heb “to make known your name to your adversaries.” Perhaps the infinitive construct with preposition -לְ (lamed) should be construed with “come down” in v. 1a, or subordinated to the following line: “To make known your name to your adversaries, let the nations shake from before you.”
