Isaiah 21:6-7

21:6 For this is what the sovereign master has told me:

“Go, post a guard!

He must report what he sees.

21:7 When he sees chariots,

teams of horses,

riders on donkeys,

riders on camels,

he must be alert,

very alert.”

Isaiah 52:10

52:10 The Lord reveals his royal power

in the sight of all the nations;

the entire earth sees

our God deliver.

tn The Hebrew term translated “sovereign master” here and in vv. 8, 16 is אֲדֹנָי (’adonay).

tn Or “a pair of horsemen.”

tn Heb “lays bare”; NLT “will demonstrate.”

tn Heb “his holy arm.” This is a metonymy for his power.

tn Heb “the remote regions,” which here stand for the extremities and everything in between.

tn Heb “the deliverance of our God.” “God” is a subjective genitive here.
