17:8 They will no longer trust in 1 the altars their hands made,
or depend on the Asherah poles and incense altars their fingers made. 2
26:15 You have made the nation larger, 3 O Lord,
you have made the nation larger and revealed your splendor, 4
you have extended all the borders of the land.
1 tn Heb “he will not gaze toward.”
2 tn Heb “and that which his fingers made he will not see, the Asherah poles and the incense altars.”
3 tn Heb “you have added to the nation.” The last line of the verse suggests that geographical expansion is in view. “The nation” is Judah.
4 tn Or “brought honor to yourself.”
