3:1 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, 1  partners in a heavenly calling, take note of Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess, 2

6:4 For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

Hebrews 9:23

9:23 So it was necessary for the sketches 3  of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, 4  but the heavenly things themselves required 5  better sacrifices than these.

Hebrews 12:22

12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, the city 6  of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the assembly

3 tn Or “prototypes,” “outlines,” referring to the earthly sanctuary. See Heb 8:5 above for the prior use of this term.

4 tn Grk “with these”; in the translation the referent (sacrifices) has been specified for clarity.

5 tn Grk “the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.”

6 tn Grk “and the city”; the conjunction is omitted in translation since it seems to be functioning epexegetically – that is, explaining further what is meant by “Mount Zion.”
