Genesis 31:37

31:37 When you searched through all my goods, did you find anything that belonged to you? Set it here before my relatives and yours, and let them settle the dispute between the two of us!

Genesis 47:4

47:4 Then they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to live as temporary residents in the land. There is no pasture for your servants’ flocks because the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. So now, please let your servants live in the land of Goshen.”

tn Heb “what did you find from all the goods of your house?”

tn Heb “your relatives.” The word “relatives” has not been repeated in the translation here for stylistic reasons.

tn Heb “that they may decide between us two.”

tn Heb “to sojourn.”

tn Heb “for there.” The Hebrew uses a causal particle to connect what follows with what precedes. The translation divides the statement into two sentences for stylistic reasons.
