Genesis 24:4

24:4 You must go instead to my country and to my relatives 1  to find 2  a wife for my son Isaac.”

24:57 Then they said, “We’ll call the girl and find out what she wants to do.” 3 

Genesis 37:29

37:29 Later Reuben returned to the cistern to find that Joseph was not in it! 4  He tore his clothes,

1 tn Heb “for to my country and my relatives you must go.”

2 tn Heb “and take.”

3 tn Heb “and we will ask her mouth.”

4 tn Heb “and look, Joseph was not in the cistern.” By the use of וְהִנֵּה (vÿhinneh, “and look”), the narrator invites the reader to see the situation through Reuben’s eyes.
