Ezekiel 7:4
7:4 My eye will not pity you; I will not spare 1 you. 2 For I will hold you responsible for your behavior, 3 and you will suffer the consequences of your abominable practices. 4 Then you will know that I am the Lord!
Ezekiel 33:4-5
33:4 but there is one who hears the sound of the trumpet yet does not heed the warning. Then the sword comes and sweeps him away. He will be responsible for his own death. 5
33:5 He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, so he is responsible for himself. 6 If he had heeded the warning, he would have saved his life.
Ezekiel 44:12
44:12 Because they used to minister to them before their idols, and became a sinful obstacle 7 to the house of Israel, consequently I have made a vow 8 concerning them, declares the sovereign Lord, that they will be responsible 9 for their sin.
1 tn The meaning of the Hebrew term is primarily emotional: “to pity,” which in context implies an action, as in being moved by pity in order to spare them from the horror of their punishment.
2 tn The pronoun “you” is not in the Hebrew text, but is implied.
3 tn “I will set your behavior on your head.”
4 tn Heb “and your abominable practices will be among you.”
5 tn Heb “his blood will be on his own head.”
