22:13 If it is torn in pieces, then he will bring it for evidence, 1 and he will not have to pay for what was torn.

1 tn The word עֵד (’ed) actually means “witness,” but the dead animal that is returned is a silent witness, i.e., evidence. The word is an adverbial accusative.
