Deuteronomy 18:6

18:6 Suppose a Levite comes by his own free will from one of your villages, from any part of Israel where he is living, to the place the Lord chooses

tn Heb “to your son.”

tn Heb “by a strong hand.” The image is that of a warrior who, with weapon in hand, overcomes his enemies. The Lord is commonly depicted as a divine warrior in the Book of Deuteronomy (cf. 5:15; 7:8; 9:26; 26:8).

tn Heb “according to all the desire of his soul.”

tn Or “sojourning.” The verb used here refers to living temporarily in a place, not settling down.
