Deuteronomy 2:33

2:33 the Lord our God delivered him over to us and we struck him down, along with his sons and everyone else.

Deuteronomy 18:5

18:5 For the Lord your God has chosen them and their sons from all your tribes to stand and serve in his name permanently.

Deuteronomy 28:32

28:32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another people while you look on in vain all day, and you will be powerless to do anything about it.

tc The translation follows the Qere or marginal reading; the Kethib (consonantal text) has the singular, “his son.”

tn Heb “all his people.”

tc Smr and some Greek texts add “before the Lord your God” to bring the language into line with a formula found elsewhere (Deut 10:8; 2 Chr 29:11). This reading is not likely to be original, however.

tn Heb “the name of the Lord.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

tn Heb “and there will be no power in your hand”; NCV “there will be nothing you can do.”
