16:20 You must pursue justice alone 1  so that you may live and inherit the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Deuteronomy 28:14

28:14 But you must not turn away from all the commandments I am giving 2  you today, to either the right or left, nor pursue other gods and worship 3  them.

Deuteronomy 32:30

32:30 How can one man chase a thousand of them, 4 

and two pursue ten thousand;

1 tn Heb “justice, justice.” The repetition is emphatic; one might translate as “pure justice” or “unadulterated justice” (cf. NLT “true justice”).

2 tn Heb “from all the words which I am commanding.”

3 tn Heb “in order to serve.”

4 tn The words “man” and “of them” are not in the Hebrew text, but are supplied in the translation for clarity.

5 tn Heb “sold them” (so NAB, NIV, NRSV, NLT).
