Daniel Interprets Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

2:37 “You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has granted you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor.

Daniel 3:16

3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to King Nebuchadnezzar, ¹  “We do not need to give you a reply ²  concerning this.

Daniel 5:14

5:14 I have heard about you, how there is a spirit of the gods in you, and how you have ³  insight, discernment, and extraordinary wisdom.

Daniel 6:8

6:8 Now let the king issue a written interdict ⁴  so that it cannot be altered, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed. ⁵ 

Daniel 6:15

6:15 Then those men came by collusion to the king and ⁶  said to him, ⁷  “Recall, ⁸  O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no edict or decree that the king issues can be changed.”

Daniel 12:4

12:4 “But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about, ⁹  and knowledge will increase.”

¹ tc In the MT this word is understood to begin the following address (“answered and said to the king, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar’”). However, it seems unlikely that Nebuchadnezzar’s subordinates would address the king in such a familiar way, particularly in light of the danger that they now found themselves in. The present translation implies moving the atnach from “king” to “Nebuchadnezzar.”
