1 tn Heb “Then God granted Daniel loyal love and compassion before the overseer of the court officials.” The expression “loyal love and compassion” is a hendiadys; the two words combine to express one idea.
2 tn Aram “and the king.” The proper name has been supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.
3 tn Aram “his visage altered upon him.” So also in v. 10.

5 tc Theodotion lacks “and the palms of my hands.”
