Daniel 1:20
1:20 In every matter of wisdom and 1 insight the king asked them about, he found them to be ten times 2 better than any of the magicians and astrologers that were in his entire empire.
Daniel 2:30
2:30 As for me, this mystery was revealed to me not because I possess more wisdom 3 than any other living person, but so that the king may understand 4 the interpretation and comprehend the thoughts of your mind. 5
Daniel 3:29
3:29 I hereby decree 6 that any people, nation, or language group that blasphemes 7 the god of Shadrach, Meshach, or Abednego will be dismembered and his home reduced to rubble! For there exists no other god who can deliver in this way.”
Daniel 6:4
6:4 Consequently the supervisors and satraps were trying to find 8 some pretext against Daniel in connection with administrative matters. 9 But they were unable to find any such damaging evidence, 10 because he was trustworthy and guilty of no negligence or corruption. 11
Daniel 6:22-23
6:22 My God sent his angel and closed the lions’ mouths so that they have not harmed me, because I was found to be innocent before him. Nor have I done any harm to you, O king.”
6:23 Then the king was delighted and gave an order to haul Daniel up from the den. So Daniel was hauled up out of the den. He had no injury of any kind, because he had trusted in his God.
Daniel 11:37
11:37 He will not respect 12 the gods of his fathers – not even the god loved by women. 13 He will not respect any god; he will elevate himself above them all.
1 tc The MT lacks the conjunction, reading the first word in the phrase as a construct (“wisdom of insight”). While this reading is not impossible, it seems better to follow Theodotion, the Syriac, the Vulgate, and the Sahidic Coptic, all of which have the conjunction.
