5:12 David realized that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that he had elevated his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.

2 Samuel 7:26

7:26 so you may gain lasting fame, 1  as people say, 2  ‘The Lord of hosts is God over Israel!’ The dynasty 3  of your servant David will be established before you,

1 tn Heb “and your name might be great permanently.” Following the imperative in v. 23b, the prefixed verbal form with vav conjunctive indicates purpose/result.
