3:39 Today I am weak, even though I am anointed as king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too much for me to bear! 1  May the Lord punish appropriately the one who has done this evil thing!” 2 

2 Samuel 24:17

24:17 When he saw the angel who was destroying the people, David said to the Lord, “Look, it is I who have sinned and done this evil thing! As for these sheep – what have they done? Attack me and my family.” 3

2 tn Heb “May the Lord repay the doer of the evil according to his evil” (NASB similar).

3 tn Heb “let your hand be against me and against the house of my father.”
