3:32 So they buried Abner in Hebron. The king cried loudly 1  over Abner’s grave and all the people wept too.

2 Samuel 13:36

13:36 Just as he finished speaking, the king’s sons arrived, wailing and weeping. 2  The king and all his servants wept loudly 3  as well.

1 tn Heb “lifted up his voice and wept.” The expression is a verbal hendiadys.

2 tn Heb “and they lifted their voice and wept.”

3 tn Heb “with a great weeping.”
