2 Kings 9:26
9:26 ‘“Know for sure that I saw the shed blood of Naboth and his sons yesterday,” says the Lord, “and that I will give you what you deserve right here in this plot of land,” 1 says the Lord.’ So now pick him up and throw him into this plot of land, just as the Lord said.” 2
2 Kings 16:15
16:15 King Ahaz ordered Uriah the priest, “On the large altar 3 offer the morning burnt sacrifice, the evening grain offering, the royal burnt sacrifices and grain offering, the burnt sacrifice for all the people of Israel, their grain offering, and their libations. Sprinkle all the blood of the burnt sacrifice and other sacrifices on it. The bronze altar will be for my personal use.” 4
1 tn Heb “and I will repay you in this plot of land.”
2 tn Heb “according to the word of the Lord.”
3 tn That is, the newly constructed altar.
4 tn Heb “for me to seek.” The precise meaning of בָּקַר (baqar), “seek,” is uncertain in this context. For discussion see M. Cogan and H. Tadmor, II Kings (AB), 189.
