Elisha Helps a Widow and Her Sons

4:1 Now a wife of one of the prophets ¹  appealed ²  to Elisha for help, saying, “Your servant, my husband is dead. You know that your servant was a loyal follower of the Lord. ³  Now the creditor is coming to take away my two boys to be his servants.”

2 Kings 8:5

8:5 While Gehazi ⁴  was telling the king how Elisha ⁵  had brought the dead back to life, the woman whose son he had brought back to life came to ask the king for her house and field. ⁶  Gehazi said, “My master, O king, this is the very woman and this is her son whom Elisha brought back to life!”

2 Kings 23:30

23:30 His servants transported his dead body ⁷  from Megiddo in a chariot and brought it to Jerusalem, where they buried him in his tomb. The people of the land took Josiah’s son Jehoahaz, poured olive oil on his head, ⁸  and made him king in his father’s place.
